Am I... ©Molli Paige

How do I...
Where do I begin

Am I
Your sweet mocha chocolate
Kept secret
In a guarded place

No one else sees
No one else knows
About me...only you...when you feel free

Am I
Your sentiment, your refrain
Kept hidden
Cloaked, concealed
So it may not reveal
That I
May
Yet be
the iron gate, still attached
To the brick wall of your soul
Rusted, but not disconnected

You stand,
With your hands
Frozen, in time

On the outside, you mask
You make-believe
keeping the panoptic view
As a deceptive quandary
For those closest to you

Am I
Your
Stolen, last bit of frosting
On your fingertip
You don't let go...to waste

In fact,
With no eyes watching
You steal away and dip again
...Am I...
...Your enigma...

The Quiet Murmur ©Molli Paige

Nothing
is as it seems
The pages are blank,

...staring back at me

My heart pounding a crazy beat
Was it something I said
Or was it something you read
Words twisted leaving you cold instead

My words choked up in my mouth
I have no guarantee of finding my way out
Feeling the pain, seizing me with doubt
The senses wane 'til their perfectly still
Tongue-tied, your deafening silence kills me
Waking from sleep, delirious, remembering
This must be a delayed space in time
A fraudulent hand played out of line
......Forced apart, swept away with the tide
This is insane, yet so unashamedly raw
The threads are not torn through after all
Cruel life is, sometimes, laughing while
...we

fall

I know your passions, your whispered murmur...
...a distant hummmm...
Penetrating then, now, and in the distant future
Find reprieve, live, laugh, impassion and bewilder...
...there is no end...just abeyance to let us linger...

Tolerance, A Masquerade ©Molli Paige

Tolerance has been masquerading as acceptance
high jacked, kept prisoner
smiling all the while in our faces

To tolerate is to humor
to Accept is to acknowledge and recognize

Tolerance...
dormant and silent
A cancer killing from the inside
...waiting to abide

It's simple really...
Do you want to be accepted?
Or do you want to be tolerated?

I choose the former,
and reject the latter!

I choose.

Take This Picture -songwriting style ©Molli Paige

Somebody take this picture from me
Oh, it just won't let me be

I picture you, starin down at me
Your legs wrapped around me
I touch your skin, I see you smile

Somebody take this picture from me
It's been fifteen years 'n still keeps haunting me

I picture your hand reachin' out
bringing my lips right to your mouth
Nothin' else mattered, you tasted so sweet

Somebody take this picture from me
Oh, it just won't let me be

You visit me in my sleep
I swear I hear you callin for me
I hear your voice so clear...sayin'
I wish you were here with me

Somebody take this picture from me
It's been fifteen years 'n still keeps haunting me
Yet, I look...Yet, I wonder...
Oh, how I...

Letting Go ©Molli Paige

I'm trapped in these four walls, she says;
No one here to save me, no one here to tame me,
With these wild thoughts running through my head.

The phone rings on and on and on;
She doesn't answer, pretending she's not home,
The voice, the heart on the other side,
is left wondering, left wondering in the dark.

Her tremors she hides when she's with you,
The quiver in her voice she hides when she's with you;
Yet, she's left crying, shaking, faltering in the night,
She screams for your love to show her the light.

She prays for some difference to give up the fight.
She's screaming so loud, she's missing the call,
She's missing the voices, while they watch her fall.

It isn't heaven or hell or God that'll get you through,
It's your own determination, your own power of will.
Not one soul is the 'chosen one', we are not alone!

Shed your skin of self condemnation;
Let everything go and start your journey anew,
Just let go, take flight and find everything that is you.

Stripped ©Molli Paige

A flushed face,
With ideas of tomorrow floating, chanting

Your lips to taste,
Dipping, diving...unabashed, you let me in

What is this feeling,
Of knowing, of wanting absolutely everything
Standing, staring,
I find myself falling

My fingers touch,
Tracing, lingering, your body wreathing
Another world opens,
Crashing through, so familiar, yet undoubtedly new

Undaunted, stripped down,
A current through my finger tips
Your eyes dazed,
Thoughts, words, your closed heart melting
So much left unsaid,
Eyes closed, dreaming, wondering

What is this feeling
Of knowing, of wanting absolutely everything

You may kneel and you may pray,
But that doesn't take your sins away;
Who am I to say, who are they to say,
What is wrong or what is right.

Our eyes reflect a human soul,
Mirrored images evolving with time;
Our bodies shaped, our bodies formed,
A mere translation of space and time.

Stripped of all that we know,
Stripped of all that we feel;
Who are we to judge another,
Who are we to believe we're better.

Ignorance is a shameful cover,
A cover for some to hide the truth;
Ignorance has no place in this,
A fatal blow to all that we know.

Immortal we come, immortal we go,
Lives discovered, yet still so unknown;
To be at peace, is to find within,
the love that grows and touches everything.

Love Letter -in songwriting style ©Molli Paige

My vision, stays so unclear
Like drivin in the dark, in the rain
I cover my eyes, to clear my head
There's just too many things left unsaid

I see you as a Love Letter
Wrapped around my heart
Nobody knows you're there
It keeps it from fallin apart

Now I've said, what's in my head
It's not like I...am here lyin dead
The earth still moves, the sun still shines
Everything else, is just a matter of time

I see you as a Love Letter
Wrapped around my heart
Nobody knows your there
It keeps it from fallin apart

After all is said and done
The breath of you still lingers on
I wash it clean, I want it gone
As we all know, Life goes on...

...I see you as a Love Letter
wrapped around my heart...
Nobody knows your there
...it keeps it from fallin apart...

Finally, She Breathes to Live ©Molli Paige

She could see
Everything from the rooftop, standing
The wind dancing
And swaying through her hair
She lingered
Long enough to watch the sun disappear
The quiet of the stars
Brought a hush to her ears
She lies down
Her body drifting
A flashing star
leaves her drifting
Closing her eyes, she whispers your name
Can you hear her, can you hear her in the night?
Somehow
Their two worlds had drifted apart
It's been too long now,
And it's time to let go
A light flickers
Or is the universe playing tricks
She thinks

...Of all those nights she felt broken
And incomplete
The rules of regret
Have kept her chained

But here in this place
Above the world
She's letting go, so she can breathe again
Closing her eyes, she whispers your name
Can you hear her?...She's saying GoodBye
